【摘要】:Theanionsfluoride,chloride,andsulfatehavebeenidentifiedasimportantcontributorstocorrosionofhighpressureboilers,electricpowerturbinesandtheirassociatedheatexchangers.Manyelectricpowerutilitiesattempttoreducethesecontaminantsintheirboilerfeedwatertolessthan1x03BC;g/L.Inthesemiconductormanufacturingprocesstheseions,amongothers,havebeenidentifiedasacauseoflowproductyieldand,thus,mustbemonitoredandcontrolledtolevelssimilartothoserequiredbytheelectricpowerindustry.Lowmolecularweightorganicacids,suchasacetateandformate,havebeenfoundinmanysteamgeneratorfeedwatersandcondensates.Theyarebelievedtocomefromthehightemperaturebreakdownoforganicmatterfoundinboilermakeupwater.ItisfeltthattheseorganicacidspromotecorrosionbyloweringthepHofboilerwatersandmayevenbecorrosivethemselves.Suchlowmolecularweightorganicsmayalsobeproducedwhenultravioletlightisusedtoproducebacteria-freewaterforsemiconductorprocessing.Suchpolarorganiccontaminantsaresuspectedofcausingreducedsemiconductoryields.Phosphatesarecommonlyaddedtodrumboilersinthelowmg/Lleveltoprecipitatecalciumandmagnesiumandtherebypreventscaleformation.Ionchromatographycanbeusedtomonitortheconcentrationofsuchchemicalsinboilerwater,aswellasdetectunwantedcarry-overintothesteam.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftrace(x03BC;g/L)levelsoffluoride,acetate,formate,chloride,phosphate,andsulfateinhighpuritywaterusingionchromatographyincombinationwithsamplepreconcentration.Otheranions,suchasbromide,nitrite,nitrate,sulfite,andiodidecanbedeterminedbythismethod.However,sincetheyarerarelypresentinsignificantconcentrationsinhighpuritywater,theyarenotincludedinthistestmethod.Twotestmethodsarepresentedandtheirrangesofapplication,asdeterminedbyacollaborativestudy,areasfollows:
