【摘要】:High-purityethyleneisrequiredasafeedstockforsomemanufacturingprocessesandthepresenceoftraceamountsofcertainhydrocarbonimpuritiescanhavedeleteriouseffects.Thistestmethodissuitableforsettingspecifications,foruseasaninternalqualitycontroltool,andforuseindevelopmentorresearchwork.ThistestmethoddoesnotdetectsuchimpuritiesasH2O,CO,CO2,andalcoholsthatmaybepresentinthesample.Hydrocarbonshigherthann-decanecannotbeanalyzedbythistestmethod,ifpresentinthesample.TestMethodD2504addressestheanalysisofnoncondensablegasesandTestMethodD2505addressestheanalysisofCO2.GuideD5234describesallpotentialimpuritiespresentinethylene.Thesestandardsshouldbeconsultedwhendeterminingthetotalconcentrationofimpuritiesinethylene.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofmethane,ethane,propane,propene,acetylene,iso-butane,propadiene,butane,trans-2-butene,butene-1,isobutene,cis-2-butene,methylacetyleneand1,3-butadieneinhigh-purityethylene.Thepurityoftheethylenecanbecalculatedbysubtractingthetotalpercentageofallimpuritiesfrom100.00%.SincethistestmethoddoesnotdetermineallpossibleimpuritiessuchasCO,CO2,H2O,alcohols,nitrogenoxides,andcarbonylsulfide,aswellashydrocarbonshigherthandecane,additionaltestsmaybenecessarytofullycharacterizetheethylenesample.1.2DataarereportedinthistestmethodasppmV(partspermillionbyvolume).Thistestmethodwasevaluatedinaninterlaboratorycooperativestudyintheconcentrationrangeof4to340ppmV(2to204mg/kg).Theparticipantsintheinterlaboratorycooperativestudyreportedthedatainnon-SIunits.Whereverpossible,SIunitsareincluded.1.3Thisstandarddosenotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
